The Smithsonian Institution is a group of the USA’s most prominent museums, banding together to put up breathtaking exhibitions. Inspired by their successes, Showtime Network has worked with the Institution to create The Smithsonian Channel, a channel just for covering the museums. The Smithsonian channel is dedicated to America’s historical, cultural and scientific heritage. The Smithsonian channel offers a variety of educational programming including shows such as The Pacific War in Color, My Big Bollywood Wedding, Lions Unleashed, Aerial America, Wild Burma, Ninja: Shadow Warriors and Freud’s Naked Truths.

Asides from watching the channel through cable or satellite TV providers, their website had some free video shorts featured and full episodes available for purchase. Smithsonian channel also has an app for IOS, Kindle Fire and Android to let you get your edutainment fix wherever you are. Smithsonian channel also supports Roku devices, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Netflix.

From documentaries and to series that combine the Showtime network’s knack for great storytelling and the Smithsonian Institution’s powerful take on learning, the Smithsonian channel has everything you’ll ever need.

The channel is available only in the US. However, if you are from outside the country, do not worry! Openchan can unlock access to this channel, and our company is going to let you access these services from all around the world!
